How to fix code p1585 acceleration learning Toyota mark zio
For the Toyota Mark X ZiO, the "G sensor" is usually the yaw rate + acceleration sensor that feeds the VSC/TRC system. You calibrate it using Zero Point Calibration same process as most 2000s-2010s Toyotas/Lexus.
Here’s how to do it at home without a scan tool:
1. Do the prep
1. Park on a *completely level surface
- less than 1° slope. Check with a phone level app if needed.
2. Steering wheel straight, tires pointed straight ahead.
3. Engine off, gear in P, parking brake on.
4. All doors closed. f4f50dc9
2. Zero point calibration with a jumper wire
This works for Mark X ZiO and most Toyota/Lexus models with VSC: f4f5
1. Locate the OBD2 port under the dash. Find pins 4 (CG) and 13 (TC). Pin 4 is ground, pin 13 is TC. Count from the right side if the port is facing you.
2. Turn ignition ON, but don’t start the engine.
3. Short pins 4 and 13 with a paperclip or short wire for 4-5 seconds, then remove it.
4. The VSC, ABS, and TRC lights will blink. Leave the car alone for 30-60 sec.
5. When the lights stop blinking and stay off, calibration is done. Turn ignition OFF. 4b5b0dc9
*Note*: Some Mark X ZiO models need the short to be done twice in 5 sec. If it doesn’t work first try, repeat the shorting 4-5 sec ON, 4-5 sec OFF, 4-5 sec ON.
3. Test drive
Drive straight for 30-50m above 35 km/h. The system stores the zero point while driving. If successful, VSC/TRC lights stay off. If they come back, the sensor may be faulty or the surface wasn’t level enough. f4f5
When to do this
Do it after:
- Suspension work, alignment, or tire size change
- Replacing the yaw rate/G sensor itself
- Battery disconnect or VSC/ABS codes C1282, C1285 f4f58786
If you have Techstream or a scanner
Use the "Zero Point Calibration" utility under ABS/VSC menu. It’s faster and confirms success on screen. Foxwell NT301 Pro and BlueDriver can do it. 0dc977f2
*Heads up*: This only works if the sensor itself is good and the car is level. If you get code C1290, C1282, or C1285 again, the G sensor or yaw rate sensor likely needs replacement. 4b5
Do you have a VSC/TRC light on right now, or are you doing this after suspension work? I can tailor the steps if you tell me what happened.
